Each year York offers several academic-credit courses for students in which some or all of the course work takes place abroad. Faculty members organize individual courses with the support of their departments and faculties. Currently, all study abroad courses at York take place during the summer.
The Italian Summer Studies program in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics is a good example of a long-running and popular study abroad course. Students receive credit while studying on location in Florence, Rome, and Bologna in both English and Italian.
Faculty seeking more information on starting study abroad courses may want to speak with Beth Alaksa, Coordinator - Student Mobility.
A list of current York Study Abroad courses, updated annually, can be found here.
