Buddy Program Snow Tubing Outing
Hurl yourself down a mountain in a big air inflated tube. Sound like fun? Join the gang for a day of snow tubing at one of Ontario’s winter mountain resorts.
This event will take place in February and sSnowtubing costs $20 for 2 hours. Please check the main website for more information and registration.REGISTRATION REQUIRED by Monday, February 1st, 2010 in person at York International, 200 York Lanes (with $5 deposit, which will be returned to you on the bus).
A free organized bus will take all registered participants from York University to Barrie.

Income Tax Information Sessions
Each year, York International offers sessions on Income Tax to advise students of the income tax policies as they relate to them. Representatives from the International Tax Office in Ottawa, Ontario present at these sessions.
The income tax year is from January to December. In 2010, you will file for the year 2009. The deadline to file income tax returns is April 30th of each year.

Graduating International Student Seminars
Those students about to graduate from university often find themselves with a number of questions regarding the proper procedures to graduate as well as what to do once they have received their diploma. The Graduating International Student Seminar Series is designed to provide answers to many of the commonly asked questions that graduating students have. Sessions are offered in Fall, Winter and Summer so that students may attend the session closest to their graduation date.
The seminar will consist of two parts as follows: 1. Post-Graduation Work Permit & Related Matters - "I have completed my degree requirements/I am about to complete my degree requirements, now what do I need in order to apply for the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWP)?" - this question will be addressed in the first half of the seminar. 2. Looking for Jobs after Graduation - A guest speaker from the Career Centre will present tips and job strategies for finding a job after graduation.

The Off-Campus Work Permit Program (OCWP) for International Students is an initiative that allows eligible international students to work off-campus during their studies.
With the program, students who are in Full time studies and meet the eligibility criteria may work off-campus for up to twenty (20) hours per week during the school year and up to forty (40) hours per week during breaks and holidays (i.e. Winter Holidays, Reading Week and Summer Break).
